Scenic Painting
Various scenic paint treatments done for theatrical productions at SCAD as well as the Berkshire Theatre Festival. As a scenic artist on "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot", I led a crew in transforming a set designer's paint elevations into full size scenic paint treatments.
Cow Costume Puppetry
For SCAD's production of "Into the Woods" I was responsible for creating the head and attachment mechanism for Milky White's costume.
Prop Replica (Sculpt/Mold/Cast)
With some free time, I decided to make a replica of my favorite prop from Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction. I began by sculpting the figure from Super Sculpey and Ave's Apoxie Sculpt. Next I made a two-part silicone mold of the figure, which I used to then play around with casting and faux painting techniques.
Alien Mask
I've always had an obsession with the paranormal and unknown, so when given the assignment to make a mask for costume design class, I chose to make a classic gray alien. I began by using measurements of my face to build a wire amature. I wanted the eyes to glow, but still retain a black reflective quality. To solve this I used clear plastic ladels from the dollar store, covered with stretchy black fabric. To sculpt the face itself I used Ave's Apoxie Sculpt, which I then painted with a combination of airbrush and drybrush techniques. He is now mounted on the wall above my desk, watching my every move.
